R.I.C.E indeed is helpful for first aid treatment of some muscular and skeletal pains such as the knee and the hip injuries.
R.I.C.E in this context stands for Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.
REST
A good rest does not necessarily mean that one sleeps for more than usual or become inactive. Its simply implies temporarily reducing the activities of a certain part or the whole body entirely.
You need rest to boost a healing process or relax from a hard work (And he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [Genesis 2:2 ]). God the Father rested from the work of creation and even our Lord Jesus Christ rested.
ICE
A cold medium such as ice or very cold water can numb pain and reduce swelling by constricting the blood vessels. Ice help a knee injury feel better. You can use ice for 24 hours and then alternate between ice and heat. Ice reduces swelling but boost stiffness. To get your ice-rub, you can freeze your water in an ice-tray, remove the ice and place unto a face towel to apply on the affected area gently and intermittently.
COMPRESSION
A tender but firm pressure mostly reduce swelling from a knee injury. Wrap the injury with an elastic bandage but not too tight.
ELEVATION
While lying down, elevate your knee with a pillow or while sitted, prop your knee on a stool and further raise it up with a pillow. This reduces the swelling and promotes better blood circulation.
Having done all these, stand in prayer. Pray that the God of all flesh will breathe on your injury and heal you perfectly in Jesus' Holy Name, amen.
I plead the precious blood of Jesus on you from head to toe.
Amen.

SMILES
A colleague once asked me "Toks, why do you want to streamline your field to the Health sector?" I answered " I believe in putting smiles on peoples face".
Friends! there is something spectacular about Smiles.
Proverbs 17: 22- "A joyful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones". A smile is a reflection of a joyful heart. It is an evidence of Gods glory in your life, your family, work, health and ministry to mention but few.
Smile is contagious, it lightens the atmosphere and bring happiness to the people around you. A hearty smile boost your immunity, lowers the blood pressure and can prevent flu and cold when you smile heartily.
God in His awesomeness has perfected it all by declaring that smile from a joyful heart is good medicine Hallelujah!!!
Medically, Smiles distinguish you and build your body functions. It is a good ante-dote for stress and depression. Smiles are natural and release natural pain killers. Smiles make you more attractive, younger and so draw people closer. When you smile from your heart, you proclaim good news of our great God, your heart is positive and you live longer.
Some tips to Smiles as a lifestyle include the following

Some tips to Smiles as a lifestyle include the following
- Have confidence in God and His promises for your life. For example, i smile always when i think of the truth that i am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
- Be positive. Always relate more to the positive side of someone or a situation better than the negative(Ephesians 4:8).
- Cease from Anger (Ephesians 4:26). Anger breaks but Love builds. Smile is a seed of Love.
- Be kind hearted. Seek to fulfill a need in someone else's life, give a hand as much as you can. Do good, seek Peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:14)
- Be flexible. When life throws you lemon, make lemonade out of it and bubble to the glory of God.
- Define your CeeZee (Comfort Zone) i.e. where you can rest, retreat, refresh and get restored. (Matthew 14:13,23).
- Never let go of that child in you. This keeps you young, innocent with a captivating smile that radiates to your world.
- Be thankful for the blessings all around you. The blessings of family, friends, loved ones, free gifts of nature and all, knowing fully well that God's blessings make rich and add no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).
